Using implicit feedback collected from user clicks as training labels for learning-to-rank algorithms is a well-developed paradigm that has been extensively studied and used in modern IR systems. Using user clicks as ranking features, on the other hand, has not been fully explored in existing literature. Despite its potential in improving short-term system performance, whether the incorporation of user

Abstract We introduce TabRepo, a new dataset of tabular model evaluations and predictions. TabRepo contains the predictions and metrics of 1310 models evaluated on 200 classification and regression datasets. We illustrate the benefit of our dataset in multiple ways. First, we show that it allows to perform analysis such as comparing Hyperparameter Optimization against current AutoML systems while also considering

In real-world scenarios with naturally occurring datasets, reference summaries are noisy and may contain information that cannot be inferred from the source text. On large news corpora, removing low quality samples has been shown to reduce model hallucinations. Yet, for smaller, and/or noisier corpora, filtering is detrimental to performance. To improve reference quality while retaining all data, we propose

In many real-world scenarios, data to train machine learning models become available over time. However, neural network models struggle to continually learn new concepts without forgetting what has been learnt in the past. This phenomenon is known as catastrophic forgetting and it is often difficult to prevent due to practical constraints, such as the amount of data that can be stored or the limited computation

Quantum technology promises to revolutionize how we learn about the physical world. An experiment that processes quantum data with a quantum computer could have substantial advantages over conventional experiments in which quantum states are measured and outcomes are processed with a classical computer. We proved that quantum machines could learn from exponentially fewer experiments than the number required

Learning a unified person detection and re-identification model is a key component of modern trackers. However, training such models usually relies on the availability of training images / videos that are manually labeled with both person boxes and their identities. In this work, we explore training such a model by only using person box annotations, thus removing the necessity of manually labeling a training

Manual code reviews and static code analyzers are the traditional mechanisms to verify if source code complies with coding policies. However, they are hard to scale. We formulate code compliance assessment as a machine learning (ML) problem, to take as input a natural language policy and code, and generate a prediction on the code’s compliance, non-compliance, or irrelevance. Our intention for ML-based

We present a method to compute the derivative of a learning task with respect to a dataset. A learning task is a function from a training set to the validation error, which can be represented by a trained deep neural network (DNN). The “dataset derivative” is a linear operator, computed around the trained model, that informs how perturbations of the weight of each training sample affect the validation error

Meta-learning learns across historical tasks with the goal to discover a representation from which it is easy to adapt to unseen tasks. Episodic meta-learning attempts to simulate a realistic setting by generating a set of small artificial tasks from a larger set of training tasks for meta-training and proceeds in a similar fashion for meta-testing. However, this (meta-)learning paradigm has recently been
